Remanufacturing : Core return and recovery program

As part of our remanufacturing activity, JTEKT EUROPE operates a structured core return program.

Used steering systems are collected from customers, inspected, and sorted according to defined acceptance criteria.

Eligible cores are then remanufactured in compliance with JTEKT’s quality and safety standards, extending product life and reducing environmental impact.

This recovery process ensures optimal material reuse and supports our commitment to the circular economy.

What are our old cores criterias?

To ensure the quality and safety of our remanufactured steering systems, all returned cores must comply with JTEKT’s acceptance criteria.

Only complete and undamaged units are eligible for remanufacturing.

Main conditions:

  • Units must be complete and assembled

  • No disassembled, repainted, or repaired cores

  • Hydraulic systems must be drained and sealed

  • Proper packaging required for transport and handling

Returned cores that do not meet these conditions are excluded from the remanufacturing process.
